In today's world, what is an Air Ambulance or Aircraft Transport?
This type of airplane is a specially modified aircraft that is used for the medical transport of critically ill or injured patients. There are many types of air ambulance aircraft that can be used.We primarily operate within the civilian area of medical transportation. Our vast network of air transportation providers has allowed us to perform thousands of medical transports around the world in more than one hundred different countries, making us a leader in the Air Ambulance Industry for the past 39 years.
The following paragraphs describe the types of air ambulances we use below. Each type of aircraft is deployed depending on the range of the medical transport needed.
Twin Engine Air Ambulance
The Twin Engine Aircraft serves as a short range medical transport. This type of Air Ambulance can transport an injured patient up to 500 miles and most have a pressurized cabin, but not all. However, for patients that require short range medical transportation, the Twin Engine Ambulance is both affordable and effective. Normal cruise speed is 200-300 mile per hour and in most cases are limited to only one passenger.
Turbo Prop Air Ambulance
The Turbo Prop Aircraft serves as a medium range medical transport that can travel up to 900 miles. These Air Ambulances all have pressurized cabins and are suitable for most medium distance transports.
Fixed Wing Air Ambulance Lear Jet
The Lear Jet Ambulance is considered the workhorse of the medical transportation industry and the most widely known. While the Lear Jet does cost more per transport than the Turbo Prop or the Twin Engine, the speed and range of this Air Ambulance makes it the best choice in most cases. Each Jet consists of two highly trained and experienced pilots, can fly in most weather conditions, all have pressurized cabins and most Medical Jets have lavatories. If you or your loved one is a critical patient, the fixed wing air ambulance is truly the best way to travel for a medical transport.
Private Air Ambulance Jetliner
The Private Jetliner is usually reserved for the wealthy, royalty and heads of state. The Jet Air Ambulance is comparable to commercial airliners and many are converted from Boeing 747's. These aircraft include the most room, the most staff and have an extensive amount of room aboard for medical equipment, medical staff, passengers and luggage. If you can afford this type of medical transport, this is the elite way to travel in a medical emergency.
Other Air Ambulance Options
In addition to the afforementioned private air ambulances, we also offer very affordable alternatives. If you require immediate medical attention and must be moved to a hospital safely, but cannot afford our premiere services, you should consider a commercial Medical Escort or International Commercial Stretcher instead. In most cases your insurance company will cover 100% of the cost of these types of transports.
