Air Ambulance Medical Transportation Services
Advanced Worldwide Services, Hometown Care, and Detailed Attention
Air Ambulance Network offers a full range of
medical transport services. Our services are tailored to the unique needs of each patient and their families. Whether the service is an aero Medivac, air ambulance, or medical escort, each is unequaled in providing a caring, compassionate and reliable medical transfer. Wherever you need to go, we can get you there. We offer a worldwide reach, a global footprint, and international service to whomever needs us.
Air Ambulances or Medivac flights are aircraft that are outfitted as flying intensive care units (ICU). Medical aircraft carry cardiac monitor / defibrillator, non-invasive blood pressure monitoring and oxygen saturation monitors, oxygen, and a full complement of emergency advanced cardiac life support drugs, modern state of the art defibrillators with trans-cutaneous pacing capabilities, intravenous fluid infusion pumps, and a multitude of other life support equipment and patient care supplies, as well as ventilators, balloon pumps and incubators. Each Air Ambulance or Medivac flight’s equipment is tailored to the specific needs of the patient.
The Medical teams are chosen based on the specific needs of the patient. In some cases, we may contract with specialists to accompany the patient that may or may not be employees of
Air Ambulance Network. Critical Care patients are transported in an intensive care setting. In most cases, the critical care transport team is composed of a Critical Care Nurse and a Critical Care Paramedic. In selected cases, based on the patent’s needs, a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and/or Medical Doctor (MD) may also be added to the flight team.
A standard Critical Care medical team consists of a Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or Critical Care Paramedic (CCEMT-P), which may accompany the patient on elective transfers or critical care patient transfers who require only minimal monitoring. Though some patients may only require minimal care, our medical personnel are prepared for changes in patients conditions and aircraft are staffed and equipped with full set of advanced life support emergency equipment and medication.
Medical Escorts are available for patients that can travel on commercial airlines, but only need minimal medical assistance during the flight. In these cases, a Critical Care Registered Nurse or a Critical Care Paramedic travels with the patient to assist them on and off the aircraft, to and from the bathroom, and with any other minor medical or personal needs. Often, medical escorts are used to transfer or repatriate patients back to their home country and families. If the patient can tolerate sitting up in a wheelchair a medical escort can be provided on a commercial airliner in business or first class section whenever possible. These medical escorts provide a high level of care, yet without the cost of an air ambulance.
Quality Assurance
We have an extensive Quality Assurance Program. At the completion of each domestic or international flight, the transport team flight notes are sent to the Medical Director and Medical Coordinator for careful review. As each flight is tailored to the uniqueness of each patient, there are always valuable lessons and opportunities to record the knowledge gained through each transfer. In addition, an evaluation card is sent to the family after the flight, requesting them to evaluate our service and the care provided to the patient. This comprehensive Quality Assurance Program enables us to continually evaluate ourselves and consequently maintain our highest level of service and care to our patients.
Flight Operations
All worldwide transports are centrally coordinated at our corporate office in Tampa, Florida. Centralized flight coordination permits our Flight Coordinators to monitor every aspect of each Aero Care transport or Medical Escort to assure each step occurs smoothly and without difficulty. This also provides our Professional Flight Coordinators the opportunity to receive up to the minute reports on weather conditions, aircraft flight times, and other developments that may occur during the flight. This information is then rapidly communicated to the patient’s family and the discharging/receiving facilities to keep them updated on the transfer. We arrange and monitor each transfer or medivac as if the patient was a member of our own family.
We have advanced air ambulance contractors strategically positioned across the United States and worldwide to perform domestic advanced flights and international medivac transfers. This enables us to respond quickly to your needs with the correct air ambulance and medical team closest to your location.
